Greenhouse Gas Measurement

Businesses concerned about sustainability and their impact on the environment must have an accurate accounting of their carbon footprint. Verus Carbon Neutral provides you with a breakout of where your greenhouse gas emissions are coming from and quantify them in terms of metric tons of CO2e. Our analysis generates carbon footprint information necessary for corporate sustainability reports. Results are also shared with top-level management and various stakeholders.

Your carbon footprint is based primarily on Scope 1 & 2 emissions.

Scope 1—Emissions mainly result from burning petroleum products and natural gas—making smoke.

Scope 2—Emissions come from electricity generation purchased from your local utility. Each grid contributes differently depending upon the amount of fossil fuels required to generate power.

Scope 3—Emissions from Scope 3 sources are considered 'optional' for reporting purposes and include activities like: business travel, employee commutes, waste (reduction for recycling)—useful metrics to motivate employees. If you would like an in-depth analysis of your supply chain, also considered Scope 3, please see Life Cycle Assessment or Greening Your Supply Chain.
